Summer Reading Program Begins June 20
Newport Beach Public Library will kick off the 2020 Summer Reading Program beginning June 20 with the theme Dig Deeper: Read, Investigate and Discover.
The Library’s annual Summer Reading Program will run from June 20 through August 8. Teens, children and adults are encouraged to read throughout the summer and submit reviews on the books they read. Library reading materials can be picked up using the convenient Curbside Service at all Newport Beach Public Library locations, Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. -5 p.m. Book review forms, game sheets and other materials and information can also be found on the Library website under Summer Reading Program.
For children through 6th grade, a “Starter Kit” and a free paperback book can be picked up using Curbside Service beginning June 20. Like in past years, children will track reading on game-sheets and have the option to write (or draw) book reviews, too. These materials are available for printing and submitting from home! Completed game-sheets and book reviews will be entered in prize drawings at the end of Summer Reading. Additionally, there will be bi-weekly craft activities and a special virtual performance of Wild Wonders’ animal show the week of July 6.
Funding for Summer Reading at NBPL is generously donated by the Friends of the Library. For more information on Curbside Service, Summer Reading materials, access to eBooks and eAudiobooks, video storytimes, virtual programs and more, visit http://newportbeachlibrary.org
