About the Balboa Branch
The Balboa Branch was the first municipal library formally established by Newport Beach City Council at a cost of $7,000 and with a budget of $75 per month. It served as the main library branch for the City of Newport Beach from 1929 to 1980 (more information).
In addition to serving as a neighborhood library with children's programs, computers, books, magazines, DVDs and more, the Balboa Branch is also home to the Newport Beach Historical Society.
