Virtual Happy Hour with Julia Phillips

Newport/Mesa ProLiteracy invites supporters to enjoy Happy Hour with popular author, Julia Phillips, from the comfort of your own home on Saturday, October 24. Julia Phillips will talk about her debut novel and National Book Award finalist, “Disappearing Earth.”

The virtual happy hour will start promptly at 5:00 p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions, which the author will answer. Phillips’ spellbinding and emotional storytelling quickly propelled this powerful novel into contention for a long list of awards and accolades, including being selected as a finalist for the National Book Award as well as for many lists of the 10 best books of 2019 including the NYT and Vanity Fair.

The Happy Hour event is free. Registration is limited. Donations to Newport/Mesa ProLiteracy are greatly appreciated. Registered guests will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link to the event.
