Library Live with Jonathan Bloom

The Newport Beach Public Library foundation presents

Library Live: Jonathan Bloom
Thursday, November 8 @ 7:00pm

Jonathan Bloom is a journalist and author of American Wasteland: How America Throws Away Nearly Half of Its Food (and What We Can Do About It). He interviewed numerous experts, from famed chef Alice Waters to Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen, to find out not only why and how we waste, but what we can do “to keep our Earth and its inhabitants physically and morally healthy.” We live in a time when more people are going hungry and the food we throw away daily is enough to fill the Rose Bowl Stadium!  Bloom will challenge us to look closer at what we buy, how we store, and how we waste food. Refreshingly, he offers practical solutions which will leave you informed about what you can do to become more food conscious.

Tickets: $21.00 member/$27.00 Non-Member
