My name is Basil.  I am a Flemish Giant Rabbit, the largest rabbit breed recognized in the United States, and I was born on December 27, 2015.  When my mom rescued me, I was 8 weeks old and weighed 2.34 lbs.  Now I am 3 years old and weigh 19 lbs!!  I mostly eat timothy hay and dark leafy greens.I love to cuddle with her husbun (husband bunny) Patches, run around the yard, and sneak mango treats when I can. I also love to play in my tunnel and hop about, but my absolute favorite thing to do is to listen to stories and to make people happy.  Please come to the Balboa Branch on June 4th to help me do my favorite things!

Basil is registered with Pet Partners*, the therapy animal visitation group, and is a member of their Read With Me™ program.

*Pet Partners is widely recognized as the Gold Standard in therapy animal visitation programs, with more than 14,000 registered teams making about 3 million visits each year to a range of facilities in all 50 states

This program is presented by the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation
