Organizing Genealogical Information and Setting Research Goals

  • Introduction: This class will explore a variety of tips and techniques that will help participants create focused, efficient research plans.

The amount of information a genealogy researcher compiles can be overwhelming, having the ability to cloud the big picture, cause haphazard approaches to searching, and side-track research goals. This class will explore a variety of tips and techniques that will help participants create focused, efficient research plans and strategies as well as organize the information that they find in formats such as charts, timelines, and tables, allowing participants to identify patterns and contradictions in information as well as determine the most effective path forward for furthering their research. This class will not include the use of Media Lab computers.
