How do I add readers?

Follow the instructions below to add readers: 

  1. Click the reader name in the top right corner of your screen.
  2. At the bottom of the reader dropdown, select Add a Reader.
  3. Then, follow the prompts to add the personal and required information for the new reader. 

How do I log books?

Follow the instructions below to log books/reading: 

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click the "Log Reading" or "Log Reading and Activities" button.
  3. Select reader and log type.
  4. Enter information about what you are reading, e.g., title, minutes, date, etc.
  5. Click "Log."
  6. If applicable, the reader may earn a badge and prizes.

How do I log activities?

Follow the instructions below to log activities from the patron view: 

  1. Log into your account.
  2. Click the "Log Reading" or "Log Reading and Activities" button.
  3. Select reader and log type.
  4. Mark the activities as they are completed (some may require text box challenges or secret codes to complete).
  5. If applicable, the reader may earn a badge and prizes.

How do I enroll in an ignored challenge?

Sometimes you may accidentally ignore a challenge that is available to them. If you decide you do in fact want to participate in the challenge you dismissed, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your reader profile.
  2. Click on the Challenges button. 
  3. Click over to the Ignored tab.

 How do I set up personalized book recommendations?

  1. Once signed in, click your name in the top-right corner of the screen and click the pencil icon to the right of your name to edit your reader preferences.
  2. Select Yes under the Personalized Recommendations section, and then Save.

Before or after a reader has enabled personalized recommendations, you will need to fill out your preferences via the Reading Doorways link in order to get relevant books suggested for them. If you have not filled out your preferences, you will be prompted to do so when you navigate to your Recommendations tab but will still receive generic book recommendations.

You can select your preferred character backgrounds, reading level, interests, and favorite genres to tailor your recommendations. 

How do I reset a password?

Follow the instructions below to reset the password as a reader:

  1. Navigate to your library's Beanstack site and click “Sign In.” 
  2. On the Sign In page, click “Forgot Your Password?”
  3. On the next page, enter the email or username attached to your account and click “Reset Password.“

Note: You will only receive an email to reset your password if there is an email address associated with your account. If there is not an email attached to the account, you will be prompted to contact a librarian to assist with the reset.
