Sources available include current newspapers, scholarly journals, trade journals, magazines, dissertations, and more. The historical archives date back over 150 years.

ProQuest is a great resource for researchers, providing access to searchable full-text articles and abstracts.

Follow the steps below to access The Los Angeles Times (or other publications like The New York Times or The Wall Street Journal) though ProQuest:

1. Click on ProQuest link on the databases page

2. Enter your NBPL Library Card Number

3. Click on “Publications” to narrow down what publication you’d like to read

4. Type in name of publication in the search bar, then press the “Search” button

5. The top result will be the current issue of that publication

6. You are able to then search through different issues and browse articles within the issues
proQuest date, issue, and volume search
