Led by nationally recognized genealogical expert, Arlene O’Donnell, the program consists of a beginning genealogy overview session along with individual workshops. Sign up for one or sign up for all.

Note: Other than Beginning Genealogy, some experience with genealogical research before registering for any of the topic specific workshops is recommended.

Beginning Genealogy - Oct 29 Wednesday 10-12 

Whether you're just starting out or exploring a new hobby, join us and learn how to uncover the stories behind your family tree. This stand-alone class will help equip you with organizational skills, resources, a road map, and basic research techniques to get your journey underway.  You don’t need any particular skills—just a genuine interest in your family’s history. Genealogy Tricks of the Trade - Nov 5 Wednesday 10 –12 

Learn time-savers, efficiencies, and additional resources to improve the outcome of your research by taking a fresh approach to your existing research techniques. The first 30 minutes will cover the session’s topic. The remaining 90 minutes will be an interactive round table. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss their progress, ask questions, and receive guidance.

Genealogy How to Contact Other Researchers - Nov 19 Wednesday 10 –12 

Learn a variety of interview tips and resources. Discover why it is important to understand the history of the area and how various events (wars, historical landscape changes, geographical nuances) impacted your ancestors, and eventually your own research. The first 30 minutes will cover the session’s topic. The remaining 90 minutes will be an interactive round table. Bring your best/worst ‘Brick Wall’ research challenge to this class and let the group creativity and critical thinking help you consider new angles to approach your challenge. Methodology Roundup - Mar 18 Wednesday 10 –12 Genealogy 

There’s more than one way up the mountain! With many ways to achieve the same goal in your research, this class will cover a variety of resources some might not have considered before. Presentation by the instructor will be approximately 30 minutes, and the remaining 90 minutes will be an interactive round table. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences of picking up great information from places others might not have considered.
