The Media Lab offers equipment and computer software designed to make digital copies of VHS tapes, photos, slides, film (stills only), and negatives. Users are suggested to bring their own storage devices (flash drives or portable hard disk drives) formatted to Mac or PC computers. Blank CDs and DVDs can also be used. Cloud storage is also recommended.

  A multimedia and software platform used for authoring of vector graphics, animation, games and Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) which can be viewed, played and executed in Adobe Flash Player.

• Pro Tools
  Digital audio workstation widely used by professionals throughout the audio industries for recording and editing in music production, film scoring, film and television post production, musical notation and MIDI sequencing.
• GarageBand
  Software application that allows users to create music or podcasts.  It is a streamlined digital audio workstation (DAW) and music sequencer that can record and play back multiple tracks of audio.
• Adobe Audition
  A digital audio editor.

• Final Cut Pro
  Allows users to transfer video onto a hard drive where it can be edited, processed, and output to a wide variety of formats.
• iMovie
  Proprietary video editing software application sold by Apple Inc. for the Mac and iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPad mini and iPod touch).
• iPhoto 
  Digital photograph manipulation software developed by Apple Inc. as part of the iLife suite of digital media management applications.
• Adobe Photoshop
  Software used to import, organize and edit digital photos.
• Adobe After Effects
  Digital motion graphics and compositing software published by Adobe Systems. It can be used in film and video post-production.
• Adobe Encore
  A software tool for authoring DVD and Blu-ray discs.
• Adobe Premiere Pro
  A real-time, timeline-based video editing software application.

• Adobe Dreamweaver
  A combination code / graphical user interface web development application.
• Adobe Contribute
  Allows a wide variety of people within an organization to update web pages by reducing the amount of web design skills necessary for the process.
• Adobe Fireworks
  A bitmap and vector graphics editor aimed at web designers.
