Enrollment Information
Project Adult Literacy offers free one-on-one tutoring and small-group classes for eligible adults. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Become a Learner
To participate, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age.

Possess basic English conversational skills.

Demonstrate a program-related goal.

Commit to the program for at least one year.

Have a valid email address and proficient computer skills.

Be an Orange County resident for at least two years.
-
Live or work in Newport Beach or surrounding cities.

The 4-Step Enrollment Process

Contact us to complete our Prospective Learner Questionnaire to determine your eligibility.

If eligible, you will be invited to attend our upcoming New Learner Orientation where you will complete a formal application and an in-person English assessment. Attendance is mandatory.

Meet with the Coordinator to discuss your goals to determine if classes, one-on-one tutoring, or both are the best fit.

Once enrolled, you may register for classes. If you are eligible for a tutor, please note the waiting list is typically 2 to 6 months.

Small Group Classes for Enrolled Learners
Our small group classes are open to all currently enrolled Project Adult Literacy students. Class sizes are limited and registration is required.
