The Book, Reimagined

Art students from UC Irvine will be in the Café at the Central Library on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to talk about their exhibit, “The Book, Reimagined,” which is on display through April 30. 

The exhibit, on the upper level of the Central Library, features “books as objects” created by students from winter quarter Artist Book studio at University of California, Irvine. The undergraduate art class encourages students to explore the relationship between image/text by creating handmade one-of-a-kind or edition book projects utilizing various techniques. 

Art pieces in the exhibit will rotate periodically through the month. Student participants include: Karina M. Andelian, Shalini Chakrabarty, Jasmine Eunjung Chang, Ailee Chen, Michelle Chu, Murphy Chu, Keven Colchado, Eunice Amaren Edigin, Albert Escobedo, Alyssa Midori Harper, Aaron Matthew Hilado, Diane Ngoc Diem Huynh, Da Yae Kim, Leighton Lee, Danielle Victoria Mariano, Elle Mersereau, Mahtab Mohammadi, Linda Phuong Nguyen, Latiara Rashid, Ziba Safavian, Evan Houston Stanfield, Faris Taher, Ana Luisa Torres, Vi Yen Vu, Qing Wei, Danielle Moriah Westbrook, and Hanqing Xu.
