Children of Virtue and Vengeance Book Cover

The second book of some of the most amazing adventures you will ever read about. The first book in this series, Children of Blood and Bone, leaves off at a huge cliffhanger. It makes you want to read more and more and more about this journey. When the main character, Zelie, finds out that she did not bring back magic (which was her intention) she is filled with rage. She lost and gained friends, had romance, and connected with her fellow majis. She found out how everything she did was connected by creating a new form of maji called tîtans. They have powers that can harness the powers of others so they are often more powerful than portrayed and can sometimes have their powers overcome them, then sadly kill them. This second book really brings out how characters have felt the whole time. A lot was revealed about each character and that shows how the author can still elaborate on each person with such detail. We saw how Zelie’s rage and hate slowly turned into empathy, how Amari’s gentleness turned into a fighting spirit, and how Inan’s hate turned into sorrow. You can see the characters’ true selves for the first time and if you thought you knew that character you really didn’t. The elaboration is so amazing. I feel now that people will after they read this book will have their perspectives totally changed. I for one have a huge change of perspective, I used to think that life was easy for everyone but that was clearly not the case. Culture is so amazing when you read about it and this book really brings out culture. While the character development was being developed the new lands and characters were also being introduced. One of the new places that was introduced was, the new base created by Mama Agba. This is a place where all maji could feel safe and secure from the government. It was a place that only a maji or one with powers could find. When I was reading this book it sounded magical, like something straight from my imagination. This book can be imagined in all different ways because we are all unique and all have different views of certain things. This book helped me escape from our world and go to a new one. One where I didn’t have to go to school and deal with the coronavirus. I thank Adeyemi for writing this book because since I am an introvert I read a lot and.coming across this book has brought wonders to my mind. I wish that anyone else who reads this book feels as refreshed of mind and happy as I did when I read this book. Things like this are not easy to come by and you really have to look into it to find the right one. Things are perfect in life if one takes the time, commitment, and effort to read. I hope you find fulfillment as I did in this book. Thank you for reading my review and I hope you find the right book for yourself.
