Is being the main character all that matters to everyone? In this graphic novel called Drama by Raina Telgemeier, a girl named Callie loves theater. Her passion for theater is so strong, she was going to try out for her middle school’s Moon over Mississippi production, but she can't sing. She didn't give up despite this issue and instead tried something new. She made the decision to become a member of the stage crew and the drama's set designer. It's intriguing that her journey was part of the stage crew. She is also with Liz, her closest friend who helps her during her hard times. After this is resolved, Callie distributes audition forms for the play throughout the school. During this time, she meets a twin who completely alters her life. Greg is Callie's crush, but Justin and Jesse, the twin, help her forget about him because he is presently involved in an awkward relationship with Bonnie, who has no interest in Greg. After some time, Callie develops little feelings for Jesse, but Greg comes in the way during the journey. Read this book to find out what will happen and who she will choose. I enjoyed all the friendships in this book and how they overcame challenges to deepen their bonds. They are kind to one another and, most importantly, they don't judge one another. They all support them and accept them for who they are. Another aspect of this book that I liked was how everyone came together to prevent this play from being a failure. When something unexpected occurs, they always have a backup plan that comes through to save the day. I also felt like this book demonstrates how enjoyable attending school is—being able to be with your friends while also being able to do what you want to do. The fact that Callie couldn't move on from Greg and would become nervous whenever he appeared in the story was something I didn't particularly enjoy. I also didn't like how Bonnie constantly believed she was superior to everyone else, especially Callie. Knowing your worth is a good thing, but you should never try to elevate someone else at their expense. I will, without a doubt suggest this book to other teen readers. This is because I found reading this book to be really enjoyable. Just about everything was very entertaining. Everything is also improved by the images. Because you can actually see what's happening with your own eyes, it adds spice to the entire plot and is also incredibly delightful. One thing about this is that it’s a comic book and not a regular literature novel, so you’ll be done with it pretty fast. You don't have to worry about being done with it fast because there are so many other series of comics book that are by the same author, Raina Telgemeier, and they're all equally pleasing and enjoyable. I hope you have fun reading this book and don’t be too surprised about the twisted plot in the end.
