When will the library reopen?

All branches of the Newport Beach Public Library are open normal hours with 100% capacity.

Central and Mariners hours are: 

·         Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

·         Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

·         Sunday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Balboa and Corona del Mar Branch will also reopen for in-person services on Monday, June 7, at 100% capacity.  Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.  Balboa and CDM branches will no longer offer curbside services.

Face masks are required for all unvaccinated individuals inside all Library facilities.

What are the service hours?

All Newport Beach Public Library Branches are now open.

Curbside service is no longer available. 

Patrons may pick up holds inside the building.


Central Library

Normal hours resume Monday, June 7:

Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.


Mariners Library
, 1300 Irvine Avenue, Newport Beach

Monday – Thursday:  9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Sunday: 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.


Balboa Branch Library, 100 E Balboa Blvd, Balboa

Monday – Saturday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.


Corona del Mar Library, 410 Marigold Avenue, Corona del Mar

Monday -- Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

 


What safety guidelines are in place?  

Following the State guidelines for the New Blueprint for Safer Economy Plan, the Library has restarted in-person services incrementally. Face masks completely covering both nose and mouth will be required for unvaccinated members of the public entering the Library.

Until restrictions on gatherings are lifted program spaces will be prohibited. 

In accordance with guidelines from the State of California, the Newport Beach Public Library is implementing a variety of precautions to make the environment as safe as possible for staff and the public upon reopening.  Libraries are equipped with Plexiglass barriers at public service desks and hand-sanitizers.  

The Library continues to encourage patrons to use telephone reference and the Library e-Branch.  No in-person programs will be offered at this time.
