DESCRIPTION:<p>Join us for this fun and interactive creative writing workshop devoted to dads and kids! During this hour-long workshop, dads and kids will work together to create, write, and illustrate their own stories. Special guest children's author Barbara Odanaka offers helpful writing tips to get you started! This workshop is in partnership with the company <em>fodada. </em></p><p><a href="https://www.fodada.com/write-with-dad" target="_blank">Register for Short Stories with Dad.</a></p><p>Barbara Odanaka grew up in Newport Beach and dreamed of becomming a writer. At age 10, her career launched when the Daily Pilot published her "Goodbye Halloween" poem, for which she earned a whopping 50 cents. Ms. Odanaka went on to be a sports reporter for the Los Angeles Times and now writes for children. Her books include <em>Construction Cat</em>, <em>A Crazy Day at the Critter Cafe,</em> and <em>Smash! Mash! Crash! There goes the Trash!</em>.</p><p>Registration recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 3-11.</p><p>Funding is generously provided by the Friends of the Library.</p>
