DESCRIPTION:<p>Sherman Library, in conjunction with the Newport Beach City Arts Commission, presents <i>Newport Beach: Glimpses of the Past</i>, a special exhibition of historic photographs and other items from the archives of Sherman Library, on display at the Newport Beach Central Library gallery.&nbsp;</p><p>For over fifty years Sherman Library has worked to preserve the history of Newport Beach and surrounding communities. The historic photographs in<i> Newport Beach: Glimpses of the Past</i> represent a small fraction of the tens of thousands of photographs, documents, and maps relating to Newport Beach in Sherman Library's collections. </p><p>Sherman Library, located in Corona del Mar, is a historical research library specializing in the history of the Pacific Southwest – including southern California, Arizona, northern Mexico and adjoining areas.
