DESCRIPTION:<p><em>&nbsp;</em></p><p><em>A Walk in Her Shoes </em>is an interactive art exhibit that tells the stories of survivors of human trafficking. Each of the shoes displayed represents a woman who has survived sexual exploitation, addiction or life on the streets. Headphones and QR code are affixed to each podium so that visitors can easily listen to the stories by downloading a QR Code Reader and scanning the code. </p><p> <em>A Walk in Her Shoes</em> was created by Cherished High Desert, a nonprofit organization, comprised of a residential program and social enterprise that is run by and for survivors of commercialized sexual exploitation, human trafficking, addictions and life on the streets. The stories can also be listened to by visiting the Cherished High Desert website at <a href="http://www.cherishedhighdesert.com/a-walk-in-her-shoes/" target="_blank">www.cherishedhighdesert.com</a>. Not suitable for children. </p><p>The exhibit runs January 13 through February 15, on the second level of the Newport Beach Central Library. </p><p>Presented by the Newport Beach City Arts Commission.</p>
