Literacy Services

Project Adult Literacy is located on the lower level of the Central Library, and provides services for adults seeking to improve their English reading and writing skills

Coding for Kids!

Learn basic coding principles using Scratch in this four-part workshop every Monday in April. Participants will be taught the basic vocabulary of Scratch and then get hands-on experience with the programming language including opportunities to create an animation based on their code. No coding experience required. For ages 6-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Attend one session or all four! 

Workshop sessions include:

  • April 3: Learning the Basic Functions
  • April 10: Customizing Characters
  • April 17: Design and Animate your Name
  • April 24: An Unusual Discovery

Space is limited and registration is required for each session.
