Friends of the Library representatives, Amy Hunt, President, and Wendy Frankel, Bookstore Manager, presented the Library with a check for $250,000 at the July 25th Newport Beach City Council meeting. Library Director Tim Hetherton accepted the check on behalf of the City, expressing his gratitude for the continued support of the Library from the Friends. "Generating a $250,000 donation from $1 book sales requires a tremendous amount of hard work and dedication by the Friends.  Newport Beach Public Library could not provide all of the valuable resources and exceptional programming that it does without the wonderful support of the Friends of the Library," said Hetherton.  The Library will be using these funds to purchase new books and materials, enhance programming, fund the Summer Reading Program and support Literacy Services.
