United States Immigration Research - CANCELLED

  • Date: 03/28/2018 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
  • Location: Newport Beach Central Library, Media Lab
    1000 Avocado Avenue
    Newport Beach, California 92660
  • Introduction: This class will delve into passenger lists, naturalization records, citizenship records, and border crossings.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but  due to staff changes, the Genealogy Workshops have been cancelled. Based on their popularity, the Newport Beach Public Library looks forward to offering similar classes in the future.

With nearly fifty million people having immigrated to the United States dating back to the colonial era, immigration records provide a key link to tracing one’s lineage in an ancestor’s country of origin. This class will delve into passenger lists, naturalization records, citizenship records, and border crossings to help discover participants’ family immigration stories and further their research beyond the borders of the United States. This class will not include the use of Media Lab computers.

Cancellations:  Due to limited seating in the Media Lab, we kindly request that registrants unable to attend the class contact the instructor with advanced notice so that the instructor may cancel your registration and make your seat available to another attendee.
